We are a pensioner couple. Nigel came to do a couple of jobs on the recommendation of Hamish Erskine but unfortunately my experience of his work, in particular his aftercare, was rather off-hand and unhelpful. We had asked him to deal with a broken radiator thermostatic valve which he attended to fix. He told us that the bleed valve also needed replacing. This required draining the whole system and so elevated the cost but was necessary we were told. All well and good. However when we came to use the central heating that particular radiator was stone cold. Nigel's email advice was to bleed the radiator which we did several times but to no effect. Nigel was insistent that the problem required just a radiator bleed and told us he would have charge if he came in person. As the weather got colder we eventually bought in the services of another plumber who was a bit more friendly and obliging and who fixed the problem in seconds! It turned out that the valve on the other end had been turned off which prevented the flow of water through the radiator. The result was that we had to pay again to get the radiator fixed whereas a brief visit from Nigel would have quickly sorted his mistake out.
Replaced a faulty radiator valve with the minimum of fuss, despite the job being a little more unusual than first thought due to nature of the fault. Excellent communication prior to the job and arrived punctually within the agreed time slot.
Had a major headache with a leaking toilet, and so looked for an out of hours plumber. Spoke to Nigel who gave brilliant advice based upon outstanding knowledge which helped me identify the problem and stop the leak.I would recommend.
Nigel was recommended to me by Hamish Erskine. I asked him to replace a radiator, drain the central-heating system, replace the system's chemicals, and install a magnetic filter onto the boiler in a student property. According to my tenants, Nigel was friendly and worked quickly & tidily; so far the new system seems to be working well. Nigel was relatively quick to reply to my messages and, after a few days' wait, we fixed on a date for him to do the work.
Fantastic. Nigel and Nick built us a complete new bathroom, from plasterboarding to tiling, plumbing, painting, and installing new furniture. They did a great job: meticulous and responsive to our wishes, and they were a pleasure to work with and have around. I *definitely* recommend them.
I would thoroughly recommend Nigel - a friendly and efficient service. He came along to quote for fitting a replacement shower and provided excellent advice. He arrived on time to do the job and kept us informed as he was working. The installed shower is brilliant, the tiles are matched and all work completed to a high standard.

I couldn't have asked for a friendlier plumber. He managed to come to our house earlier than previously thought and even though the job was a fiddly one, Nigel kept smiling and cracked on. Will definitely be using again if needs be.
The work Nigel did was great and he also gave helpful advice on other ideas we had. Great at keeping in contact to let us know what was happening and when he was done. Fantastic emergency service - after drilling into a water pipe Nigel was with us quickly on a Friday evening to stop the leak and definitively fixed the problem on the Sunday afternoon. Great friendly service, would definitely recommend and use again in the future. Thank you!
I can not rate this plumber highly enough in terms of good old fashioned customer service and care. The feed pipe to a hot water pipe had sheared off and we had to shut everything down. We needed an emergency plumber. I have never had dealings with Nigel before. When I contacted him to ask him to have a look at it, he was unfortunately too busy. But what he did do, was talk me through the process to isolate the combi boiler, so that we at least had a cold water supply until we could find another plumber. During the telephone help that he gave me, Nigel was kind, calm, patient and professional. He was a great and helped enourmously. I actually train people in customer care...and Nigel demonstrated it all in his phone conversation with me. I shall be using this episode as an example of great customer care on my next training session.I would not hesitate to recommend Nigel.
Nigel answered my call promptly and in person on a Saturday afternoon; gave me advice about isolating my leaking cistern; and agreed a time to call with the spare parts on the following Monday morning. I sent him photos of the leaky valve by text in advance. He was positive, punctual, courteous and efficient. Terrific service.
After ordering a cooker/installation elsewhere a small drop in the gas pressure was detected, so the company capped off the boiler. Nigel was fantastic, he came out on an emergency call to assess the issue that night and was able to reorganise his work the following day to play gas leak detective in a 200yo Grade II listed property, which was no easy task - I have small children and was without heating or cooking facilities. Nigel provides a friendly, professional service and when they re-deliver the new cooker, Nigel will be installing it! Many thanks!
